MAN JAILED FOR RAPE IN CANNOCK |
||
|
A man who raped and sexually assaulted a woman in Cannock has been jailed for 15 years.
Anthony Lomas, 59, of West Chadsmoor, was found guilty of two counts of rape of a woman and four counts of sexual assault of a woman and was sentenced on Monday (5 January).
In 2021, the survivor bravely came forward and told us about the abuse, resulting in Lomas’ arrest.
Officers from our rape and serious sexual offences unit (RASSO) worked tirelessly to support the survivor throughout the investigation and to build all of the evidence against Lomas.
Now, he’s been sentenced to more than a decade behind bars, has been put on the Sex Offenders Register for life and has been served with a restraining order, stopping him from contacting the survivor.
